Parodia Herteri Inquiry..

Post by Cactastrophic »

My parodia herteri gave me lots of seeds this summer.
I sowed all the seeds from one of the buds a couple of weeks ago and so far only one seed germinated.

Is this right or am I doing something wrong :?:

btw. I'm using the plastic bag method keeping the little pot very humid.

The flower might not have been pollinated very effectively, so much of the seed may be dud. Give it a while before you panic though.

Funny thing is, this is the species that I've grown most successfully from seed - only trouble is that I had nothing to do with it. :sad3: I just left the fruits go and all around the base of the plant were the many babies!
