Pleiospilos nelii growing strange

Post by wutwutwut »

Hi everyone,

My split rock is growing strangely. I understand its growing new offshoots at the base but why is there an extra pair of leaf?

I gave it a few spoons of water last week. Did I over/under do it?

I'm in Canada so it's still a bit too cold for it too be outside. Once it's outside I normally soak and let it dry out.

I have 2 myself.
My understanding is that while it is not adding a new set of leaves you water it. Once a new set sprouts you stop watering. The oldest set then provides moisture and nutrients for the new growth. the older leaves wither away.

I’m having something very similar happen! I’ve been looking for answers everywhere as I’m very new to p. nellis. I actually purchased this guy on Etsy and don’t know what to make of the little leaves on the side? Does this mean leaves won’t develop in the center as they’re supposed to??
