My Babies, and what to do now!

Post by kari »

Howdy y'all!

I need help on WHAT DO I DO NOW!?!?! So I can transplant these critters into pots.
Any help on IDs to genus (yeah, right) would be great, except the Opuntia are supposed to be santa-rita.

Oh, there so cute. So what are they--boys or girls

Wish I could offer advice but I've yet to try propragating seeds. You'll like the santa rita. I added Opuntia violacea var. santa rita and Opuntia violacea var. macrocentra (black-spine prickly pear) to my collection as cuttings last year \:D/

Kari,
I suppose you can transplant them, but I would let them continue to grow since there is plenty of room around them.

If someone can ID them at that stage, then we have a TRUE Cacti Guru. amoung us.

Kari,

Isn't it fun to watch those puppies pop out of the soil? Your's look great! Growing a batch of cactus from seed is one of the neatest things I've done in a while. My wife thinks I need to get a life  . The only problem is how slowly they grow. I just want to see them much bigger. I planted another batch of some seeds a while back of cold hardy cactus and none have sprouted yet. About 100 plus seed. I am very frusrated since my other seeds sprouted so well. I have them outside hoping the cold nights and warm days will help.

Good luck with yours.
