StrUktO, from the netherlands

Post by Arjen »

hello everybody, my name is arjen den boer, known on this forum as 'StrUktO'.
I live in the south of the netherlands and pretty much collect every plant that you can call cactus, or resembles it enough to fool me!

ok, my collection. I'll start with some pictures taken yesterday of my smaller plants, all growing at my south window.

cleistocactus flavispinus?
Image

oreocereus celsianus
Image

opuntia microdasys, shrivelled old leaves but a healthy new one forming
Image

two euphorbia suspect siblings
Image
Image

opuntia .... (I also have a larger one which I'll add later)
Image

echinopsis chamaecereus/chamaecereus silvestris, young plant, the mothership I'll also add later
Image

mammilaria sempervivi
Image

schlumbergera truncata
Image

schlumbergera ....
Image

not a clue what this is
Image

astrophytum .... (I guess it's too young to tell which)
Image

echinopsis subdenudata
Image

dehydrated myrtillocactus geometrizans
Image

this one is a mystery, is it cactus or euphorbia? it doesn't resemble anything I know, I've been told that at least it needs more water.

Hi Arjen, welcome!

The one you have as Astrophytum is actually Echinocactus platyacanthus. The one above it looks like maybe Mammillaria rhodantha.

You're off to a good start. I think that first one is probably C. strausii, but could also be Espostoa. Hard to say for sure.

Hello Arjen,
also a warm welcome from me, a former German from northern Germany (Bremen).
You already do have a nice collection of succulents (the second to the last image does depict a Euphorbia sp., but I cannot tell which specie).
I do hope that you will feel "at home" on this forum.
