Sorry, but what is the definition here of a soil soak? Is it simply a heavy watering? Or do you take the plant out of the pot and soak the roots for awhile?
edit to add, I think I just saw the answer in a post above. Heavy watering and catch the runoff.

Re: Looking For Wholesale/bulk
Good luck, but the business model of being a grower and wholesaler of weird looking plants that are not commonly purchased doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. There are a lot of nice looking plants that are not sold in big box stores, but where to find those in bulk would be another thing. They wou...

I love reading Xerophilia and Stone Eaters and I always want to tinker a little bit after going through it.

Re: All inorganic soil mix for beginners?
Thanks Steve, just ordered the Orchid Pro. The big container seemed a bit of overkill for me.

Re: All inorganic soil mix for beginners?
I know some people advocate all pumice but I find it easy to tip over in winds that I get here, and 1/2 inch pumice seems awfully large to me. I know everybody has their perfect blend and I have fun by trying different mixes. This summer I am using equal parts pumice, lava, and decomposed granite. T...

Re: New Plants. What Have You Got?
Dave's plants are awesome. I still have not planted my two zaragosa that came from Miles as well. Could you post a pic of your potted up plants, Aloha? If you don't mind. I'm going to hit Poots in the morning to see if I can find any hidden gems. I think the problem might be for me is that I don't h...

Those are very nice. I would have a tough time figuring out how deep to plant the Turbs.

Re: Spiral cacti list
My Euphorbia spiralis is awesome. Maybe my favorite plant. Saw it in the window of a dumpy old gas station a couple of years ago. All dusty. They sold it to me for $7.50 I believe. I've never been able to find another.
