You HAVE to see this!

Post by Bill in SC »

For all the doubting Thomases who said my Pilosocereus pachycladus seed pod would fall off. I started to take a pic of this seed pod yesterday, as it was just getting HUGE, probably as large as a silver dollar. Well today, it has ruptured, exposing LOTS of seeds. It looks like a brain with seeds. I hate to disturb it, but I guess it's time for removal.

It has now been removed, and is in the house. Wanted to get to it before the birds, ants, or other critters got to it. I will extract the seeds tonight.

Very cool seeds and plant. I'll buy a few seedlings in a few years.

Did you see the guy (from NC) who caught a big Cat on his grand-daughters "Barbie Fishing Rod"?? They said it was some sort of record....but it didn't looks as big as the one in your photo.

You may have to start weight training if you want to catch anything bigger than that!!!

:D I have that same head light! I don't use it for fishing though...

I think if the fish get much bigger, then technically, they are catching you, aren't they?

A guy from Georgia was fishing with us last Friday night at our SC catfish club gathering and camp over. he took that pic. My grandson caught his personal best flathead as well, at 14#. (see pic) He also caught his personal best channel cat, at 10#. We caught 105# of fish from my boat in about 8 hours. Very exciting seeing those rods SLAM down! It is challenging as it takes great skill to work the monsters out of the heavy cover we fish. We lose LOTS of fish due to broken lines, and I use 100# Power Pro braided line, with a 50# monofilament leader.
