i droppped it :(

Post by rambocacti »

Hi there,

Im a cacti newbie... My girlfriend recently brought me one for xmas (no idea what type it is)

Unfortunatly on my way up to uni i managed to drop it twice (i had a LOT of stuff to carry in addition to my cactus)

How resilliant are cacti to being dropped? (it came right out of the pot as well - i tried to repot it)
What should i be looking out for to see if it's ill?
I will try and get some pictures up

Cheers

That's bad... but it will survive (I guess).
Depending on the cactus you have, if the top isn't damaged, it will still grow from there, even if it'll not go as straight as usual (I have one like that. After it fell marks stayed on the stem :( ).

look below in this forum and find my topic help listen to advice there given to me whatever you do dont water it unless someone tells you that your specifific cactus requires water after trauma if you already have, try to dry the soil without removing the cactus others here may have ideas on that

if i have learned anything it is that cacti are very sensitive to overwatering

Hey Lawrence,
Sounds like beginner's luck! :P

Well don't worry, cacti are quite tough. You might have permanent scars, but should have a good recovery.

If you can post that picture, we can get pretty specific in the diagnosis.
