Astrophytum ornatum

Post by Antonio_P »

Good Morning!
I'm needing some help to identify what's this in my Astrophytum ornatum. It's all around the body, near the soil, with more or less intensity. Is it normal or it's a desease?

Thanks for any help.

I forgot to say that the plant looks perfectly healthy besides this and is growing right now, developing various new spines.

Thank you Spikey. I was just starting to think it was a bad thing because he didn't have that 2/3 months ago...

Thanks a lot.

When this happen I always sprinkle some fine sand around the root neck. I think moisture on the body causes this problem.
