very near to my place is a large platue of seasonal [monsoon] flowers. it is a biodiversity hot spot! many of the flowers are seen only at that place and no where else in world!
Smithia hirsuta..
UTRICULARIA PURPURASCENS
IMPATIENS OPPOSITIFOLIA
POGOSTEMON DECCANENSIS
ERIOCAULON TUBERIFERUM
this area is known as kas platue.it is 24 kms from my place. the pecularity of this area is that the flowers last only for 1 wk-10 days and other coloured flowers replace them. hence the colour of the platue changes every wk for about one and a half month.there are many other rare species also here. pics some other time!

platue of flowers

Hello CV,
there are truly some beauties among those wildflowers. This old horticulturist would not mind having some of them as ornamentals in his yard. I do like the Utricularia purpurascens and Pogostemon deccanensis a lot, because of their color (blue to purple) which is not all too common among garden plants. Also, the Eriocaulon tuberiferum - a member of the Liliaceae family? - with its white flowers, is a pretty one.

P.S.: I am waiting for more images! Thank you for posting them.
