weird growths

My cactus got these dark marks like an infection or something on its sides. There are now what look to be roots sprouting from these lesions. Wondering if i should be worried about these and how to get rid of them.

Is there any way you can post a picture of it? A picture is worth alot towards identifying the problem.

Hmm. Yes, we're going to need more info to figure this one out. Do you know what genus it is at least?

Of course a picture is the best and almost necessary for these things.
