Re: 3 Mammillaria cacti IDs request
Yes it is Mammillaria discolor "Ginza Maru" it matches well with google Thanks!!
Hmmmm other first two showed doesn't match well with cacti pictured on google so "thinking"
Re: 3 Mammillaria cacti IDs request
For the first one I could suggest M.karwinskiana, for the second - check M.rhodantha, M.pringlei or nivosa. When it blooms the flowers will help to narrow down the species.

Re: 3 Mammillaria cacti IDs request
Right Mammillaria Karwinskiana yep, at least there's lots of different varieties of same species such as spine length, different areoles, Thanks!
hmmmm second one is probably going be hard without flower which sadly there's no currently buds on this plant but yes second one looks much closer to Mammillaria pringlei
-----------
First: Mammillaria Karwinskiana
Second: maybe Mammillaria pringlei
Last: Mammillaria discolor "Ginza Maru"

Re: 3 Mammillaria cacti IDs request
Your suggestion for #1 looks quite likely.
As stated earlier #2 could be M. columbiana. Possibly ssp yucatanensis
Re: 3 Mammillaria cacti IDs request
Karwinskiana has mostly white spines and white hairs in axils.
Re: 3 Mammillaria cacti IDs request
Agree about white spines in mature specimens and also in karwinskiana ssp.nejapensis. Spines on younger ones usually have brownish tips. white hairs also better develop in older karwinskiana plants imho.

Re: 3 Mammillaria cacti IDs request
...I wouldn't call #2 a pringlei. I know a couple of such plants, their spines are a lot thinner, longer and slightly curved.fragrancecactii wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 7:10 pm hmmmm second one is probably going be hard without flower which sadly there's no currently buds on this plant but yes second one looks much closer to Mammillaria pringlei

Re: 3 Mammillaria cacti IDs request (UPDATE with pink flowers)
Thanks! It could be columbiana!, All previous species mentioned previously by others are wrong due to wrong color of flower (pringlei and nivosa are red and white flowered species but one columbiana is pink flowered species!)
Re: 3 Mammillaria cacti IDs request (UPDATE with pink flowers)
The first one can be M. rhodantha as well. At low light conditions radials are weak or even missing.
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.
