Branching San Pedro?

Post by Grubber »

Hi all,

I thought I had 'San Pedro' cactus growing in my backyard. The short spines, the rounded columns, the right color, and the 'V' shape above each areole. But this one is branching on opposite sides about 2 meters up. (about halfway up the plant). The plant hasn't been pruned in any way.

I can't find any reference to San Pedro branching this way so now I'm trying to identify exactly what this cactus is. Can anyone help with what it might be?
