Some wild life photos

Post by leland »

Coming back from a local area where I study native cacti I decided to try to get some wildlife photos.
I returned on the dirt road at about 12 kph with my window down and my camera set on auto on the passenger seat. The lens was set at its longest length, in this case 135 mm. Not much happened till I spotted 2 subjects near the end of the road. I stopped the truck and turned off the motor and got shots of a lesser roadrunner and an articulated squirrel. I happened to be on the opposite side of the road and they were not spooked so I got off several shots of each which were later cropped in post.

This looks like a good technique in areas where the animals are small and not usually seen at highway speeds.
