Each new plant is potentially with bugs.
There's a rule to free each new plant from old soil and care it from the top to the end of the roots with insenticide as it's already with pets/pests without referring to it's origin. Anyway I have any plants from Plantagen (here) and all of them are very healthy and nice.
It wan’t my intention to downtalk Plantasjen as I have encountered this fenomen ( bugs) in many shops. Regardless of origin, I do expect pestridden plants to be spottet and dealt with, not coming back a month later and see the same plants still there. Only difference is that the bugs have doubled in numbers.
As already mentioned, I think part of the problem in many ‘specialist’ shops are that the staff don’t know enough about the ‘products’ they are selling. As an example; I once visited a petshop where they had only four species of birds for sale, all very common as pets. I asked the staff about the price for one of the species and the reply was; can you show me which of them are the birds you are asking about.. When dealing with live ‘products’ I think its crucial that the staff has at least basic knowledge of their care and needs. Personally I think the buyer should read a lot about the species they buy BEFORE they buy it, but as we know, it doesn’t work that way and therefore its important that the staff can guide the buyers.
Back to Plantasjen again; I have bought a lot of plants from them too and obviously, if I wasn’t very happy about their ‘products’ I wouldn’t have done that
