Hello. I have a perplexing issue with a couple of Mammillaria I brought home on December 2. Actually, I brought home four unlabeled plants but I found the names of two with no problem. After looking at a lot of photos and reading descriptions of different Mammillaria, I was facing the fact that I may have brought home two of the same species that look different... Not only that, they could be the same species as a plant I have had since July 2016. Mammillaria hahniana...
I have attached 12 photos. The first photo is the original M. hahniana in 2016 and the second and third were taken on 10-15-20. Photos 4-7 are of the plant that I labeled Mammillaria hahniana #2. Photos 8-10 are of #3. Photos 11 and 12 show all three plants together.
The original plant currently measures 3 5/8" tall x 3 5/8" wide, #2 measures 1 3/4"tall x 2" wide, and #3 measures 1 1/8" tall x 2" wide.
The original plant is very wooly and has short hairs compared to the other two having very long hair. #2 is more of a club-shape, dark Green and doesn't have much wool. #3 is squat, bluish-green in colorant has more wool (which will get woolier as it grows).
So, what do you think? Are these three plants all Mammillaria hahniana? I know Mammillaria hahniana is a variable species but the goal is to add more species to my collection not more of the same. I have no problems with them all being Mammillaria hahniana since they are all three different. I will have to name them Uno, Dos, and Tres...

See my post here:-

The middle one in the last picture from the apical wool may be Mammillaria hahniana ssp. woodsii or a form closer to it?
