Give it time if will branch naturally by itself self, anyway could you please show a picture of your plant.

If you don't want to wait, you could prune it. Cut the top of at the height you want the branches to form, one or (often) more than one new branches will form below the cut.
Beware the sap it's toxic and caustic, guard against all contact with skin and eyes.
