White fungus? Help please

Post by imacocoageek »

Hello everyone! Do you know about caudiciforms? I have an epiphytic ant plant (hydnophytum moseleyanum). A leaf or two have gotten this weird white growth. It feels bumpy as if it is eating away the plant. Do you know what it is? How can I stop/prevent it? ANY help is really appreciated. Thank you to everyone who reads this.

That looks like a powdery mildew (Oidium sp. or Erisyphe sp.), but it could also be a Fusarium sp..
All of these organisms are fungi and I would try a fungicide to eliminate the white growth. Most likely, your growing environment is too moist, which does allow fungal pathogens to flourish.

I would cut that leaf off and burn it.
