I saw this succulent in a photo sent by my friend. She bought it from aldi a while ago and it is just labeled succulent, I was immediately drawn to it in the photo and asked her to send me a close up one. Can anyone help me identify it please?

Looks like a cactus, Austrocylindropuntia subulata monstrose - and it needs water.

During the dormant season it would be ok for it to be a little shriveled, but it shouldn't be wrinkled now.
