Thank you!

Today I have another Lewisia, but no ant this time. It is a fully established outdoor plant though, and has survived at least 2 winters already!

Since I have woken up my plants, here's some new growth on a Frailea buenekeri v. densispina I grew from seed. AH 54 [NG/00]. Sown February 14th, 12015!

Here's a newer plant for me: Pseudorhipsalis ramulosa! The flowers on this thing are tiny and this was a challenge to shoot, but, apart from the location of the flower, this didn't come out too bad!

Last picture for this week is an update on those Turbinicarpus polaskii er...seedlings? (they are like 6 years old now) All have survived this winter and are starting to grow again! (Some split from the first watering though, but they seem OK)

I'm no Hanazono, but here's an Astrophytum asterias v. "V-Type" sown in 12015! (Note that the V-type might not have carried over)

Here's a tiny little update on a seedling that was more recently sown - this Gymnocalycium bruchii subsp. pawlovskyi VoS 05-152! They were sown Nov 24th, 12018, which makes them a little over half an year old.

Another picture of an Astrophytum! This one is the oldest and largest asterias in my collection - it's a cv. Red Flower that has yet to be confirmed...
Anyways, it's a ful 7 years old! (sown Valentine's Day, 12012!)

I believe a 7 years old asterias has reached to flowering age.
Flowering buds only come out from matured areoles. They are still not so many but I can see them.

I hope flower colour was true red.

Thanks for letting me know and hopefully we'll find out soon!
Anyways, I should probably do the cut tap root technique you do, but I'm always afraid they won't root and I end up killing some 2 year old seedlings. Perhaps I should graft them, but all I have is Opuntia humifusa

Well, anyways, here's another Astrophytum hybrid that has been growing since Feb. 17th, 12015 (4 years old)
Looks to be a myriostigma hybrid of sorts?

The Astrophytum on your photo is:
*7 ribs
*No spines
*with flecking over green body

and so I think it is myriostigma v nudum x super kabuto.

Thanks again, Hanazono! I got these seeds in a mix from Tristan and C+D a while ago, so, apart from some of the more obvious cv Onzuka's, everything's just Astrophytum cultivars to me. I should repot them all soon as they are now crowding each other. I do plan on doing some breeding eventually (when I can get them to bloom)

Anyways, today's picture isn't an Astro, but a batch that was sown a few years after I bought the seeds (whoops!) Here's Matucana ritteri that were sown in Aug. 23rd, 12018! They're a bit small since I had to dry them to kill off some mold and have only begun to start watering them fully again.

There is a lot of pollen around where I live, so you'll see them as little specs on this Sedum sp. I have growing outside in the garden!

Here's my Parodia/Notocactus schlosseri showing some buds! Hopefully it will have a nice crown of flowers in a few weeks! Yellow specks are pollen clumps.
(or Parodia erubescens)
