G'morning Viktam,

The stock should be a Harrisia jusbertii if you wanted to get maximum flowers on an Astrophytum scion.

15 cuttings of Pereskiopsis were set for the rooting in this morning.
I will graft seedlings on 22nd in this month.

Seeds of an Astrophytum hybrid were sown on 22nd December last year.
I will graft these seedlings.

When do you stop grafting?
Think I've finished for the year, no space..

G'morning walker87,

I though it should be no grafting in this season but my friend gave me seeds of 2 species which I did not have.
I propagated these seeds and grafted seedlings.

An other friend gave me seeds of 2 species which are new for me.
I sowed these seeds on 8th in this month.
I will graft these seedlings in March, autumn grafting.

Space is also a problem for me but I will graft continuously, just small quantity only.

Scions of godzilla have formed off-sets.
2 of them are possible size for the grafting. I will graft them on 22nd in this month.
The photo is one of off-sets.

I grafted 2 off-sets of godzilla in this morning.
The original plan of the grafting was tomorrow but it was done one day earlier because this morning was quite cool.

These off-sets were quite hard, similar to Aztekium and Geohintonia.

Great stuff! I've just started to try my hand at some grafting, I just wish my Pereskiopsis would grow and multiply faster :D!

G'morning AusNick89,

You and my places are very dry.
You need a frequent watering for Pereskiopsis in summer.
As the result, Pereskiopsis grows vigorously.

12 seedlings of Astrophytum hybrid were grafted in this morning as scheduled.
Seedlings were very small, just one month after sowing seeds which may be 3 weeks after the germination.

24th was very hot. The maximum temperature was 47 'C and I could not go out from the home because of too hot.
I found 2 of grafted scions were eaten by a rat in the morning on 25th.

Rat does not eat grafted scion normally but it was nothings to eat on that day in the backyard.
Rat ate all poison pellets but it seems it was not enough.

The photo is one of eaten scions, A. fissuratus cv godzilla.
I think it can survive.

Hanazono, do you leave your pereskiopsis long before grafting? I did a few grafts the other day and left the pots to dry for about 4 days before grafting and the sap flow still keeps pushing the seedlings off :(.
