I was at a local shop today where they had a few pleiospilus displayed and of course, I had to give in.
I brought home a 2.5 inch pot with a 4 leaved, nice condition nelii.
I would like to get some advice regarding repotting and soil/water.
My location is Canada.
1. What are your thoughts on best potting media - I have read loamy?? pure pumice/stone?? I also have some bonsai jack succulent mix 1-1-1 - bonsai block, monto clay and pine bark??
2. Repotting - I have read that some folks advise not doing the standard remove all the previous media from around the roots and just plant the nelii from the old pot as is with the new media??
3. Water - plants looks plump, excellent shape - should I just leave well enough alone for a few months and then water in the fall as per normal succulent or am I better just misting it and then leaving it again for a while.
Anxious to hear your feedback and best practices.
Thanks,
Al

Re: Pleiospilus nelii growing help
I don't think there is a simple recipe. I found out that pure grit mix in plastic pots and regular watering provided me satisfactory results. Or mostly grit mix with some dirt, in clay pots. Almost full sun and regular watering. However, however, however, I'm Brazil, not the same climate of Canada at all.
