Can somebody please identify?
I was recently given this cactus, and would like to know what it is, and what care it needs. You may need to rotate the image clockwise!

Perhaps Hylocereus undatus. Just a guess, though.

Re: Can somebody please identify?
It's a riphsalis I seen one at Walmart . It's a tropical cactus so it needs more water than the usual cacti . Partially shaded can take full sun if adapted. Pretty easy growers if you tell me
Re: Can somebody please identify?
no cactusgrower, it is a hylocereus, probably h. undatus, maybe walmart just named it rhipsalis because that was easier, i don't really think they are precise with naming plants

Great - thanks. How often should it be watered, and fertilized?It is trailing on to the floor. Can I just cut it back, or should I put it in a hanging basket, and just let it grow long?

You could cut it back, but it would be excellent in a hanging basket. Probably have to cut it back eventually, anyway - they can get huge.
It is a forest cactus, like a Rhipsalis, the care is similar. Here's a site with detailed growing info - http://www.cactus-art.biz/schede/HYLOCE ... ndatus.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Good-looking plant.
