Cuban Leptocereus?? ID Please

Can anyone ID this native, uncultivated species? Photographed in Varadero area of Cuba in October 2008. Growing in karst forest. Locals may have referred to this as 'wild avocado cactus'.

That big brown thing in the background is a termite colony.

Any help greatly appreciated.
