Jade Christmas tree

Post by PhilTheFluter »

Dropping a catalogue off at a house today, I noticed a rather unusual Christmas tree in the porch. I'll try to get a pic of it if I can when I collect the book, but it's a three and a half foot high by two foot wide Jade Plant equipped with fairy lights. It lives in the porch, and I can't see how it thrives as well as it does considering the light and temperature it gets. Anyone else got any unusual (and succulent or spiky) Christmas trees to share?

Very interesting  Crassula ovata (Jade plant) is quite sturdy once it has aclimatated to its environment. As far as I know their temperature should not go below 5°C (40°F). Perhaps the lights are helping it by providing some heat during the cold nights. At the moment I don't have any unusual succulent or spiky Christmas trees to share, but if I get one I'll post it!
