I'm not sure if you are asking anything or not (your post is more of a statement) but if you want to deal with the slugs get "Deadline" or a similar liquid slug and snail bait. I use it all the time and they almost never get to any plants I am protecting. In fact you'll probably see a bunch of dead and dying slugs the very next morning, just make sure to make a complete line or circle around the plants you want to protect.
