Have to agree with Cactusbutt. Tee Dee Cactus is a great place to get some of those "hard to find cactus."
I have always received excellent plants from them.
Each plant is well wrapped and labeled clearly.
Service is excellent and professional.
Communications with them are also great.
I have never had any problems with them or their plants.
Their on-line sight is closed for the winter, but will open later.

wow, I'm glad I found this post because now I have a bunch of more places to buy cacti from. I personally am a big fan of http://www.cactuslimon.com - they have a lot of neat rare cacti and great service. Another good place is http://www.divinecactus.com, they have an incredible selection of cacti of the Lophophora variety.

Hi all,
It's been a long while since I peeked in here. Name is Dan, live in Lincoln, NE and have growing C&S for 42 years now. I start most of my plants from seed, privately acquired and commercially. I buy seed from Mesa Garden, CSSA Seed Depot, Silverhill Seeds in South Africa, a few from Banana tree.com and some off of Ebay. I agree with many here about the plants, Miles to go has some great plants, Aridlands is great for many succulents (I haven't tried them with cactus yet), some great Pachypodium from Highland Succulents, Shoal Creek as some nice stuff. I get a lot in trades though.
I found Sheilam's Nursery, can you really get things from them in the US? What about the Phytosanitary?

Just let the local ag office know when you'll get them in. They can be real pains. You also have to send a couple tags, and get an import permit, and since you're dealing with bureaucrats, get it done well before hand. I import plants once or twice per year usually and lately it's getting more difficult; probably due to the homeland security restructuring.

do they have nice plants?I also see they are having an open house on May 19 & 20,think I will take the 30 minute drive and check it out and take a few pics to share on the forum
Bob
Hey- I haven't ordered from Rare Plant Research in a long time. The best thing about their offerings is just how many species they offer that are really not in cultivation very commonly. I remember that their plants needed a bit of TLC when I got them and they were not always in the greatest shape. But I'll be interested to see what you think if you get a chance to visit.

Any one buy from Bob Smoley's Garden World?
I did for the first time 7 weeks ago
he said it could take up to 8 weeks and
I have heard that it is worth the wait
he has a lot to choose from and good prices
I will let you know when I get my order
if it was worth the wait.
