When this contest was open I didn't even realise that I have several pieces of New Mexican cacti. I just don't have nice shots of them. But here is another that could be in contest:

I'm just not allowed to do that.

Any more pictures that you did not whant to enter in the contest but that fit the contest theme you can of course enter here, Majcka.
Did you ever have a flower on the grusonia ? It is another species that is rare in collections I think. I was tempted to throw my Grusonia (Marenopuntia) marenae away seweral times , but then it flowered- I wouldn´t give it away now anymore.

No, not yet. I got that one this spring for my rockery. It was a bit smaller, and lest month it started to grow like crazy.

Sure you shouldn't give it away... but you shouldn't post it here! It isn't native in New Mexico. It grows in NW Mexico (Sonora).

@Jordi please do post a picture for the contest, will you?
@all: there are some nice Cylindropunta species to tbe found in NM that should fit into a picture contest just fine because they are so sculpture like.

For some people taking pictures of New Mexican cacti in natural habitat is more dificult than for others. Right? Image

And Germany is no much closer to USA than Slovenia is (It only has direct line with plane and we don't). ](*,)
