It is ided. It is a Eriosyce taltalensis var. paucicostata

Kudos on the creativity you guys that thought outside the box - as in Red that isn't a flower. I automatically thought flower.

Funny, that plant labeled Mammillaria setispina from the AZ/Son Desert Museum really does not look like setispina but more like pondii.

Extraordinarily colourful shades of red everybody- these are quite creative ideas in the contest entries.
