Thanks, Jens. He was one in a million (well, you know what I mean)--very enthusiastic and showy. Perhaps even narcissistic. Nevertheless, I shall miss him. I hope I can soon find another.

I forgot Gymnocalycium mesopotamicum, another nice Argentinian. I have so many South American cacti :shock:

I forgot Gymnocalycium mesopotamicum, another nice Argentinian
Most (Gymnos) are, outside of our 'guayan, Bolivian, and somewhat Brazilian friends.:wink: G. mesopotamicum is one of the most beautiful by far, a simple elegance to them.

Thank you. A very close contest. I learned there are more spectacular Argentinian cacti than I expected.
