Digging up? Dangerous?

Post by LadyV »

I have a couple of cactus I've had for a long time...I'd like to put them out i my cactus garden....how bad is it for them to re-pot them and bring them in for the winter but have them in ground through summer and fall? One is a "Toothpick Cactus (Stetsonia coryne)" and the other is a Mammillaria"

I agree. Sink the pot in the ground and hide the top of the pot with rocks or something. A good way to do it is to put a slightly larger pot in first that will stay in the ground all year. Then slip the plant in a slightly smaller pot into that.
All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti
