I have been so busy with other things....tomorrow I will have it completely dug out, we have "Bermuda grass" here and I swear the roots go to China!!! It's really hard to get out of the ground.....there is small fence in between the two posts....

That's a good start and it seems like a good location. Your neighbors will be able to enjoy it, too.

Only suggestion I have is a thicker rock barrier to separate the grass from the succulents (a 2' rock layer would be good), because you're going to be wrestling with that Bermuda grass constantly as it invades the other space.

I'd have to say, I think it needs to be bigger.

Because we all know that will not be big enough, in fact, not even close!!

That's going to be great! :)
Make sure you get every last little piece of Bermuda grass root out of there or it will come back with a vengeance.
I would also recommend going a step further and put in a deep plastic border under the rocks to help slow it down, but it will still get in. :x

True, there is really no way to keep it out, but every little thing will make the task more manageable. Bermuda grass is as much plague as plant...

I think it looks great.

Bermuda grass is a pain in the butt. I have that in my yard. I wanna go back in time and murder who ever put that stuff into my yard. It's impossible to kill with out using agent orange, or round up. However I do not wish to spray anything nasty into my yard so I am trying to devise a way short of a back hoe to get it out.

GS good idea :)

Maybe they would also eat all the weeds, but not the cacti ones :)

I like it! That natural rock will make a nice barrier.

I like it too, it will be nice when it's done.

I have been digging down with a hand spade and breaking deep into the roots and pulling...that's another reason it is taking so long....you can start pulling and end up a foot away with the root!!!!

yeah, those roots can go down a foot. And they are a creeping type grass(dunno if there is a special name for that or not, probably is) so they will send those roots down to a foot and then it will grow down there and create huge patches of grass.

Ok.....been working on it. I still need to put up more rock there at the fence, but here's how it's coming along so far
