Nice pic Harry, is O. minor the same as ovata? It looks similar to my untrained eye.

I was just noticing that G. pulchella was starting to green up and look awake, even with very chilly nights, so good timing Darryl. :-)

I also took these pics:

Close up of a cylindrical "pad" of O. basilaris brachyclada:

Rough looking Opuntia X columbiana (polyacanthaXfragilis)

great contest idea again Darryl!

Harry's plant looks similar to an O. fragilis i have.
Great clump Harry!

Peter, where ya been stashing that X columbiana!! Nice one. I got a clone of poly x fragilis from John P. Weiser, but it's not as glochidy as that. Nice Grusonia too ;)

No problem John, your post reminded me i hadn't yet created this thread! :) Message ammended!

Darryl, I rarely photograph the X columbiana because it has never flowered for me. It's the sort of small Opuntiad only a mother could love, so to speak. I got a single pad from Bill Beaston (I think) in 1992 and it's been everywhere I've been since.

I bought it from John Spain. If he's got more for sale this spring I can snag another or you can wait for a pad to fall off mine :D
