I have not been able to determine if its's age, size or pot size that stimulates blooms. I bought these first because they were so cheap and second since they already had dried up flowers on them. I just pulled all the old flowers out and they are loaded with seeds. I wonder if they will sprout?

Fully developed Ferocactus seeds are round and relatively large. If that's what you've got. they should grow, they germinate easily given warm conditions.

Try pulling the dried flowers out with tweezers.
Check flower's bottom: if there's a wool it's Echinocactus , if it's smooth it's Ferocactus.

Ferocactus acanthodes. Will you plant or sell seeds?
