My cultivated plants stay fairly flat, or at least not tall, but they do grow masses of fibrous roots.

I can also also recommend Davide's book on "Turbinicarpus-Rapicactus" which he signed for me at the Cactus Explorers Weekend, a few years ago in Leicester, UK. I also have his book on Epithelantha based on that article. Is he bringing out a new book on Epithelantha then?
