Yucca
Ok, so I know it's not a cactus, but I'm guessing nobody's going to complain. My Yucca is finally blooming and is doing so with all haste. Take a look at how much it's grown over the last 5 days.

I am very excited about this and will post more pictures as it progresses. I figure it has a ways to go before it's done.

Yucca
Hi Daiv,
Guess you've got the bragging rights just about now. That is amazing.

Daiv,
Your garden looks super! How about posting some shots from other angles. I'm sure more people than me would like to see more of how you've laid out your garden. Please inspire us some more.

I've had pictures of my garden on-line for quite some time. They are under the "Places" tab above.
Here's the link:
It is a humble collection of mostly common species.

Here's a picture of Matucana intertexta in full bloom. I'm hoping to get more flower pics up this week and will keep everyone posted...

Speaking of Yucca...
An interesting read is Christopher Nyerges' article: A Piece of Fibre Could Save Your Life, Nature's General Store: The Yuccas and Agaves
http://www.primitiveways.com/yuccas_and_agaves.html
I was in a 50k Ultrarun in the San Gabriel Mountains last Saturday. We ran from Sierra Madre up to the top of Mt. Wilson. On some of the mountain slopes, I saw some of the most beautiful Yuccas and Agaves...huge, tree-trunk sized flower shoots. Truly amazing!
Best, Barefoot Ted

Ok I've updated the Yucca Page.

This page might load a little slowly because there are so many images, but once it loads you can scroll easily up and down to see the changes.
It smells great too. The whole air around it is fragrant.
