Just thought I'd share these with you Aloe lovers out there...
#1 is my most recent aloe, bought with no ID I'm thinking A. marlothii? ...or A. ferox was another consideration.
#2 A. variegata my oldest Aloe,
#3 A. suprafoliata, I love this one, I just bought another of these recently with lots of pups.
#4 A. spinosissima in the reduced price throw-out bin at a nursery, got it for only a few dollars.
#5 A. plicatilis, It's grown a number of new leaves since this pic was taken.
#6 A. mitriformis, saw a nice sprawling specimen of this at the Botanical Gardens recently.
#7 A. juvenna This is a pick of a couple of newly rooted starts taken from a large(-ish)clump I have.
#8 A. juvenna flower
#9 A. barbadensis, a gift from a lovely old man at the nursing home where I work.
#10 A. aristata. I love the haworthia-like appearance of this one.
Enjoy, CP
Aloe, Aloe, Aloe, it's my Aloe pics.

These links may be of help on your A. ferox/marlothii id problem. I find them almost impossible to identify until they bloom. Then it is no problem. A third problem is the proliferation of names and hybrids. A newer intro that is especiall hard to tell from ferox is A. ortholopha but it's a great plant if space is a problem.
