Yes, I must say that the title of the contest didn't seem that interesting to me, but after we got a few submissions, it really proves to be a brilliant category.

sorry, it was shot at low res then cropped even further that's about the best i can do without trying another shot

My second choise. Notocactus schlosseri. Also from last summer. There is no more plant to see and to much surroundings.That's why I choose the Parodia. Harry

For my submission, I stayed true to my succulent passion, but I also have some photos that probably would have done better in the voting with the cactus only crowd.
I also had a hard time choosing just one picture, because I like to take this type of shot. Ignoring flowers as being too obvious, here is my second choice:
What can I say? For someone that grows Lithops, I do like spines The Echinocereus is just a baby, I was a little shocked when I found out how big it will get!
