Echinopsis buds or spines
Hi! What do you think about this? Buds or just new spines?

It is preparing to flower.
Re: Echinopsis buds or spines
Obviously buds. Expect some fairly long tubed flowers. Most true Echinopsis flowers are similar, but some are pinkish and some white.

Mine seem to bloom more if they get a cold, dry, winter. If they shrivel a little bit by the end of winter, that's a good thing because it shows that it has been cold enough and dry enough to trigger flowering.
If they stay too warm and wet over winter, I seem to get fewer flowers.

Yes. I know. In winter i keep them in cold and i don t water them from October. But I don t know why only this year they lost their virginity. ))))
Re: Echinopsis buds or spines
Technically, I would think they lose their virginity after the flower opens
