Hello! Hope everyone is well.
I recently (like this month) got into succulents because the one my friend purchased is still alive... and I am a person who cannot grow cress.
I have read that Succulents elongating is a sign of lack of sun, but then too much sun can cause sunburn and that they should have more of the morning sun. I live in the UK and my 3 succulents are in a NE window (63o NE to be exact) they get a good three or so hours a day of sunlight but two have new growth that are elongating. Is it just a case of maybe propagating the new growth?
I don’t know what type they are as that may give me more luck on where they would best be placed.

The one on top is an inflorescence or flower stalk. Don't know about the bottom one.

Your plants are echeveria purpusorum and echeveria setosa (or their hybrids). The bottom one(setosa) also sending a flower stock. They need as much light as possible.
Re: Need advice on sunlight and propagating
Thanks guys. So should I move them to the south west window where it sees more light but is harsher?. I didn’t want to incase of burning them. I have a third but he seems ok
Re: Need advice on sunlight and propagating
Plants can take full sun but you need to introduce them gradually to avoid burning.
Re: Need advice on sunlight and propagating
Those flower stalks take a lot of people new to succulents by surprise!
