So far all the MESA seeds I planted have sprouted, 3 kinds of lithops , Lithops werneri, Lithops julii (1621.8) , Lithops lesliei (1654.4) and Dinteranthus wilmotianus which took awhile to sprout. Also a turbinicaprus lophophora. Lithops werneri came up the best so far.

the conophytums I'll plant later in the fall. Nothing rare I think they were all gone or too expensive , I just started succulents a few years ago so unlike cactus I don't really know whats rare anyway just guess by pricing. As far as I can tell Mesa has no rare cactus seeds for sale anyway not what I would be looking for.

Thanks. So the seed ordering season has started officially then!

I have never ordered from SuccSeed before, but the Echinomastus are appealing so I decided on trying both Echinomastus and SuccSeed.

Echinomastus my experience big seeds germinate easy and after a few years die easy. The roots just die away. Grafting this species is probably a good idea. I have two little seedlings going E. mariposa one of the easier ones. all of the species they are cool plants .

How cold are your winters? Do you lose the plants in winter or early spring, or mostly during the main growth season?
I am not much of a grafting fan, to say the least...

You will really like them! Germination rates are on par with the best seed houses. Quantities are extremely generous at times. Some packets I have received had significantly more seed than published.

Where I live now Winters are not cold. I have grown Echinomastus erectrocentrus, intertextus and mariposensis. I think mariposensis is the easiest of the three I have tried still have one seedling alive. Not sure why they don't make it anymore ? When I lived in AZ they were easier to grow. Maybe they like the heat and dry Spring weather in AZ ? We often have cool Spring weather where I live now and damp.

The website gymnos.de has been updated: http://www.richtstatt.de/gymnos_v3/cat.php?l=en

I have had very good results with Gymnocalycium seeds from this source. Speedy delivery and very decent prices. So well worth a try if you are interested in Gymnocalyciums.

For now I only have a positive thing to say. I got the seeds today. Quite speedy, and it was already sent (with an invoice) before I had paid. The Lithops dorothea I requested was probably sold out, in case of something selling out I already indicated I would like an additional bag of seeds of one of the others species I requested. I got this to compensate, but kindly I also got a free Lithops replacement.

So I guess I can change this list I made earlier this year:

From my experience these are quite fast:
- Bercht-cactus.nl (website does not exist anymore, but the list should be send privately to anyone interested)
- Massonia.com/contact
- Gymnos.de
- Atomic Plant
- ADBLPS
- Southern African Bulb Group
- Mesemb Study Group
- Haworthia Society
- Canddplants.com
- Kaktusynechvil.wz.cz
- Oz Lithops
- SuccSeed
- I don't have experience with BCSS yet, but I believe this is a fast mover too
- I don't have experience with Pacific Bulb Society yet, but I believe this is a fast mover too

Not super fast, but reasonably fast are:
- Silverhill Seeds
- Köhres
- Piltz
- Cactus Zhiv
- Gordon Summerfield
- Shirebulbs.co.za
- African Bulbs (probably out of business as one of the owners Cameron has passed away. The URL www.africanbulbs.com is now for sale...)
- Lifestyleseeds.co.za

Slow movers are:
- Succulenta
- Cactus Hobby Brno
- Kaktusy Cacti Growers Club Hradec Králové
- Mesa Garden
- Cact.cz
- www.kaktusy.cz/eshop

Green are private growers, for as far I can tell
Red are (non-profit) organisations / societies all running on one (as the case with Succulenta and SABG) or multiple volunteers
Blue are commercial seed sellers
Black are unknowns to me if they are private seed / bulb sellers or commercial (could be a bit of both)

Apparently http://www.cactus-zhiv.com/ is not active anymore...
That is quite unfortunate. They had a very interesting list earlier this year.

They changed site to https://cactus-zhiv.prom.ua/ and currently don’t have a seed list
