I've heard often that certain types of offsets root more rapidly when they have higher heat. In your experience, would you say that's a true generalization for all desert cacti? Do some species respond better to heat than others? Would putting the offset in a baggy, like seedlings, promote rooting?
I dropped one of my plants and 6 out of 7 offsets broke off I'm hoping they'll make some nice new plants for me.

Re: Heat and offsets
Depends on how much heat
However, in my experience, the warmer the weather the faster cuttings root for me.
I have not had any experience in putting offsets in a baggy, but i regularly put calloused cuttings in my warm grow box for seedlings which is very humid and these cuttings rooted pretty well

There are more cacti in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
