One of 2nd filial red flowering hanazono kabutos has turned to a mostorous form.
Additionally several abnormal off-sets have also formed.
I will graft them when they reached to enough size to graft.

It seems my technique "FUSION" has worked well.

Thanks ElieEstephane for your comment.
I think I can see their flowers in 2020.
I believe I have been able to develop a FUSION method and sop the trial.
The grafting process of Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus + agavoids will complete in the afternoon today.

Last pair of species for the FUSION trial
Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus + agavoides
I repotted 6 pairs of species after finished the grafting process in the afternoon.
The photo is one of them.
The actual final job of grafting is cutting nylon thread tied scions together.
To do this job without failure, I bought a special scissors from overseas.

Re: Hana's grafting in 2016/2017
interesting trial, however i don't think you'll be able to create chimera's, unless you're able to join the actual growth points together. Problem with that would be the higher failure rate (but also higher successrate), and how delicate the growth point is. Still looks cool though, with two scions on one stock

Re: Hana's grafting in 2016/2017
I do not expect the formation of chimera now.
It was the initial intention but I found it was hard to slit the growing point of small seedlings accurately.
The failed one is not "two scions on one stock".
One scion is on one stock.
Asterias is a part of Ariocarpus.

Re: Hana's grafting in 2016/2017
What would happen if you removed the growth points of both plants but just chopping across? I'd imagine that there'd be a higher chance of forming a chimera then assuming the plants didn't just offset on separate sides.
Buying a cactus a day will keep the madness away.
