Pelecyphora aselliformis date night!
Pelecyphora aselliformis date night!
I brought my juvenile plant (R) to meet a big old plant (L) at our conservatory today. Later, when both flowers opened, I transferred pollen. Fingers crossed!
I'll grow it as long as it doesn't have glochids. Gaudy flowers a plus.

So did you get any rewards for your efforts?
Re: Pelecyphora aselliformis date night!
No, nothing happened!

Are you sure about that? I believe harvesting seeds from Pelecyphora is notoriously hard. The fruits are inside the plant and I think it will take a year for them to even be ripe? Not talking from experience here myself, though... But with Ariocarpus I only notice at least a year later they have made fruits, when they start to emerge to the surface. Not sooner than that.

Well it has been nearly a year. Any positive signs of pollination yet? I guess if there isn't any you can try again any time now

Nothing. If I get flowers again, oh I'll try again!
