Had a nice surprise when I inspected the plants this morning. The bud I've noticed on the Copiapoa hypogea for the past several days had opened up! Certainly a nice contrast with the horrendous conditions outside today

With apologies to the late Professor C. D. Darlington the following misquotation springs to

Fantastic, those little yellow dots!
Re: Andrew's cacti collection
Things have been pretty quiet in cactus-land here of late, but I did capture this little beauty flowering last month. This Neochilenia occulta flower didn't open more than this, but I was still pleased to get something flowering in the depths of this hellish winter. I added some orchids to the basement collection recently, so that's been a nice splash of colour, too.
Watch this space. The huge tee-dee order is finally shipping now that the weather is warming up a little. They very graciously held all my plants over the past few months until the weather improved. I've got 31 plants on the way, so there are going to be a bunch of new photos here soon!

Re: Andrew's cacti collection
Nice occulta. I wouldn't think of it as an early blooming species though, interesting.
Re: Andrew's cacti collection
The huge Tee Dee order arrived a few weeks back, and today I finally got around to taking a bunch of photos. Here are some group shots, for starters:
I'll be posting the rest here as I get around to it. Meanwhile, the complete set is on my Flickr page.

Nice plants! Is that a Geohintonia I see?
Buying a cactus a day will keep the madness away.
