yes those are pretty without flowers on them.. I need to find one of those, but I will I am sure, at Tuscon I think they had some, they were planted all over the place there.
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.

he's a great cat, but not at all domesticated. He relies on me and a couple other neighbors for food and water but will not tolerate any attempts at friendliness. I am going to trap him, get him neutered and then release him again. It's a program Maricopa County has to try to reduce the huge feral cat population, with an estimated 3 million wild cats on the prowl in Phoenix.
I had a civic, a similar vintage as yours, that was almost impossible to kill. Great car. If it wasn't for the clutch going out and costing more to repair it than the KBB value, I might still have it today!
Ha, yes, the Civic has been the car that has taken me to Los Cabos and back three times, countless other trips to Baja, all over the US southwest, all the way to Guaymas and back, to Big Bend and back twice, etc. She now has 270,000 miles and is doing well. 40 mpg on the highway. Amazing car.
For the Coryphantha, Vlad had suggested durangensis, which it may very well be. It did not come with a label and I am reluctant to give it a positive ID due to the incredible, astonishing proliferation of misidentified Corys on the web.

With apologies to the late Professor C. D. Darlington the following misquotation springs to

I did a bunch of inspecting and moving plants over the weekend. The sun has shifted far enough south that I had to move everyone to sunnier spots, areas outside thsat would have fried them over the peak of the summer. I took a while to group some of the genera together and contemplate my general interests. I was surprised to find I had so many Mammillaria. I was not surprised by the Echinocereus.

Thank you Artur. I noticed you were curious about ctenoides wenigeri. If you go here, there are some first time flower pics of the one I am growing: http://cactiguide.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 2&start=45" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Nice flower, Peter! but his thorns is amazing: http://cactiguide.com/forum/download/file.php?id=4208" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
