HI,everyone,i have 2 totem pole cuttings about 2ft. tall,how long does it take for them to scab over and how long does it take for them to root,should they have any water while waiting for them to root,i also use rooting hormone,Thanks R-Ri

The callusing (scabbing)over of the cut can take anything for a few days to a few weeks. As for the rooting it could take up to a few months depending on where you live. Applying bottom heat can help speed up the process but now as it is not the growing season (well at least here in the UK) it could take even longer and will have to be put in a warm position (preferably indoors) as it grows then it can be taken outside once it has a fully developed root system. that is if you want to take it outside!!
