Love those golden spines!
Reminds me of my C. davisii.

Re: Cylindropuntia molesta
Opuntia madness! Cylindropuntia molesta is the bane of anyone who tries to bushwhack in Baja. The spines easily penetrate shoe soles, pants, etc. Very painful and scattered all over the ground, lots of loose joints. But the spines are so dramatic, it can sometimes be breath taking to see in the wild.

Agave
"American aloe plant," 1797, from Greek Agaue, proper name in mythology (mother of Pentheus), from agauos "noble," perhaps from agasthai "wonder at".

Re: Cylindropuntia molesta
one of my favorite pics that I saw somewhere on here was by Daiv...
It was called something like "Getting molested by C. molesta"
I though the name is pretty cool too, and the plant is beautiful. Looks sorta like C. acanthacarpa but with golden spines. (and more of them)
