Hello, nice to be here!

Post by Patricia »

So I already posted a question and got many great replies! I am so glad to have found this forum and wanted to say hello to everyone.
I have loved plants since I was a child but cacti and succulents have fascinated me from the moment I saw some miniature desert gardens for sale at a shop's window, and that was many years ago. Never had the opportunity to get one so now I want to start doing it for myself and as gifts. The thing now is that at the moment I live in south Florida...rainy and humid...so I have my incipient collection in an east facing window. They get some morning sun and are doing well. My dream is to have a greenhouse some day :)

My best wishes to all,
Patricia

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I am looking forward to participate and grow my cactus and succulent collection. I am from Chile and I have seen many cacti from the desert in Chile. The Copiapoa are those. Close by there is a town called Copiapo...no wonder

Hi Patricia - a greenhouse is a good thing! You can see lots of different post here of other member's greenhouse setups. You might find that building or buying a greenhouse can be quite affordable with just a little research up front.

Hello Patricia,
also a warm welcome from the "too dry city" of El Paso. I was gone for a month and several of my cacti are no longer with me. It did not rain a drop during my absence. :x
I hope, you are going to enjoy being a member of the cactus and succulent forums and I am glad that you have joined. :D
