Is this M. backebergiana? the seed pods popped out after the winter.
Are these both baldies? Or does one have a comb over?
They both look like G. baldianum to me.
The mamm does look to match the discription on mamms.net for Mammillaria backebergiana.
Daiv, I wonder if the image you have for Mammillaria backebergiana is the wrong plant, it looks like it has hooked centrals.
