This may be only my experience but all my degrafted Astrophytum wild rot randomly months or a year or two after being on own roots. I did grow in Florida which was quite humid so that may have been a factor…
Idk if this is degrafted or not just sharing

Re: Good places to get Cactus
Miles2go order excellent as usual. Miles said his soil Ph is 7 or higher. The roots all have a organic wood type soil stuck to them. I thought organic would lower the Ph ? Anyway they have excellent roots Compost even garden/top soil tend to have balanced ph or slightly higher… PEAT has very low ph

Re: Hana's cacti
Hana have you noticed any big differences in degrafted and own root Astrophytum asterias? In my mind grafted plants are nice for seed production but with the accelerated growth you are also reducing life expectancy… I’m aware that lots of growers degraft and they last for many years however they see...

Re: Can you list some small cacti with relatively large flowers compared to body.
So I settled on Mammillaria herrerae and ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus v macdowellii. Next year or in 6 months I plan on getting more mammillaria particularly theresae and luethyi thanks for the list guys… Some of the mammillaria listed are still quite overpriced since recently discovered like Mammilla...

Awesome cacti…
Puna bonniae Also fit for me although grafted plants break it. Thanks everyone… btw the cacti don’t need to be miniatures just “small”

Re: Can you list some small cacti with relatively large flowers compared to body.
Some mammilaria, some echinopsis? Are there any mammilaria with large flowers? All I see have tiny flowers. Any echinopsis in specific? They do fall under my criteria but are a bit “large” but thanks I’ll look for a nice echinopsis Btw I’ll be growing from seeds so clones with special flowers don’t...

Can you list some small cacti with relatively large flowers compared to body.
I’m interested in small cacti that have large flowers when looking at body size… I’ve seen some REBUTIA and am in the mind set of small ariocarpus where you mainly see flower and body is small. Name specific species if possible and pics would be nice but I can just google them I’m aware the way one ...

Re: LateBloomer’s Seedlings 2021
I managed to kill my Dioscorea seedlings. I repotted all my seedlings into a slightly more grit/rock soil mix. Organized the seedlings into rows by species and have a separate pot of around 50+ stranglers that didn’t develop much. Roughy count is 50ish ariocarpus, 80ish lophophora, and 100+ astrophy...

Re: Free seeds / seed swap 2021 list
PM has returned function... PM SENT Aiko if you're willing to send I'd love those seeds. If not no biggie :) I have spoken with another member from brasil that has had issues receiving seeds but so far I've not had any packages taken/fail to arrive. Most had tracking but even regular snail mail with...

Re: Growing Lophophora williamsii from seed
Amazing progression for a year. I love your updates but sadly comparing my seedlings to yours based on time mine are growing 1/3 the speed but that is fine with me. Seeing how fast your lopho have been growing I wouldn't be entirely surprised if you have flowers late next year or on 3rd year. When y...
